Fabric & Cutting Instructions:   

       Blue.............(8) 3" squares - draw diagonal line on wrong side

                            (4) 4 1/2" squares - draw diagonal line on wrong side

       Red/Wine...(8) 3" squares

                           (4) 2 1/2" squares

       Tan..............(4) 2 1/2" x 6 1/2"

                            (4) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"

                            (1) 2 1/2" square

        White          (4) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"

Sewing Instructions:

Make Half Square Triangles (HST) by placing (1) 3" BLUE square on top of (1) 3" RED/WINE square, right sides together.  Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line.  Cut apart on line, and press to RED/WINE.  

                                                             Square up to 2 1/2"

Sew (4) HST together as shown:

Sew (1) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" TAN strip to each side, and

(1) 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" strip on bottom of unit, as shown:

Place (1) 4 1/2" BLUE square, right sides together, in corner as shown.  Sew on line. Cut seam allowance to 1/4", flip back and press.              Square up if needed to 6 1/2"

Sew (1) 2 1/2" RED/WINE square to one end of (1) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" WHITE strip:

Assemble block as shown:

Your block should measure 14 1/2" Unfinished.
