Fabric & Cutting Instructions:

     RED:          (6) 4" squares                                             WHITE:   (4) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"

                        (1) 2 1/2" square

     YELLOW:  (4) 4" squares - draw diagonal line on wrong side

          

     TURQUOISE :        (6) 4" squares - draw diagonal line on wrong side

                                                (4) 2 1/2" squares

             

Sewing Instructions: 

 

    Make Half Square Triangles (HST):

Place (1) 4" YELLOW square on top of

(1)  4" TURQUOISE square, right sides together.

Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line. Cut apart

on line. Press to Turquoise.  Square up to 3 1/2"

Make 4

Place (1) 4" TURQUOISE square on top of (1) 4" RED

square, right sides together. Sew 1/4" on each side

of drawn line.  Cut apart on line, and press to Red.

Square up to 3 1/2"

Make 8

Place (1) 4" YELLOW square on top of

(1) 4" RED square, right sides together.

Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line. Cut apart

on line, and press to Red.    Square up to 3 1/2"

Make 4

Sew (1) 2 1/2" TURQUOISE square on one end of (1) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" WHITE strip. Press to Turquoise:

Block Assembly:   Assemble your block by rotating the quad units as shown below:

Your block should measure 14 1/2" unfinished
