Fabric Requirements:

     Focal fabric........... (1)  3 3/8" square

                                     (4)  2 1/2" x 4 1/2"

     Background.........  (1) 5 1/4" square

                                     (4) 2 1/2" square

                                     (4) 3" square - draw a diagonal line on wrong side

      Coordinate #1 (Blue).....  (4) 3" square                                                             YOUR color #1____________

      Coordinate #2 (Brown).... (4) 2 7/8" - draw a diagonal line on wrong side     YOUR color #2____________

                                                  (1) 4 1/8" square - cut twice diagonally

      Coordinate #3 (orange).. (4) 2 1/2" square                                                      YOUR color #3____________

       

Sewing Instructions: 

  

    Make Half Square Triangles (HST) by placing (1) 3" Background square on top of (1) 3" Blue (# 1), right sides together.

Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line. Cut apart on line, and press to Blue.             Square up to 2 1/2"

   

Make 8

Make Flying Geese (FG) by placing (1) 2 7/8" Brown (#2) in 2 opposite corners on top of (1) 5 1/4" Background square, right

sides together, as shown below (They will slightly overlap).  Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line. Cut apart on line, and

press to Brown.   Next, place (1) 2 7/8" Brown square in remaining corner. Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line, cut apart,

and press to Brown.

Make 4

Your Flying Geese should measure 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"

Sew (2) HST, (1) 2 1/2" Background square, and (1) 2 1/2" Orange #3 together, as shown:

Sew (1) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" Focal fabric strip to bottom of each Flying Geese, as shown:

Sew (1) Brown #2 triangle to each corner of (1) 3 3/8" focal fabric, as shown:

Make 1

Assemble your block as shown:

Your block should measure 12 1/2"
