Cutting Instructions:      Use a good mix of background fabrics for a pleasing look.

Background...................(2)  4 1/4" squares - cut in half diagonally once.

                                              (1)  4 1/4" square - cut in half diagonaly twice

Blue fabrics 1-4:    

           Cut from each fabric:

                         (1) 4 1/4" Square - cut in half diagonally once

                         (1) 4 1/4" Square - cut in half diagonally twice

Sewing Instructions:

    Make Half Square Triangles (HST) by placing (1) Background large triangle on top of (1) Blue #1 Large traingle, right sides together, as shown:

    Sew 1/4" seam allowance along long side.                                  Square up to 3 1/2"  

Make (1) of EACH Blue

Make center Quarter Square Triangle (QST) by sewing                   Next, sew (1) Blue #4 and (1) Blue #2 small triangles

(1) Blue #3 and (1) Blue #1 small triangles together,                         together, as shown.  Be careful of color placement.

Sew above units together.  Square up to 3 1/2", if needed.

Make 1

Next sew (1) Background small triangle to each small Blue triangle, as shown.  Be careful of color placement!

Sew above units to Blue Large Triangle units, as shown.  BE VERY CAREFUL OF COLOR PLACEMENT.      Square up to 3 1/2", if needed

Assemble your block as shown:

Your block should measure 9 1/2"
