9-Patch Self Sashing Autograph
Fabrics:
Please use pre-washed fabrics that mostly read solid Red and Blue. for the main part of this block.  Tone-on-tone or small scale prints are fine.    The right and bottom strips may be any patriotic print of your choice. Color does not matter, as long as it is an obvious patriotic print.

The center block, and lower right corner block should be white-on-white, muslin (recommended for easier autographing), or a very small scale red or blue print on white. (For demonstration
purposes we used a light white with blue print).

You may use all the same fabrics, or make yours scrappy.

Our QOV group realized that it was taking a long time for us to sort through all of our patriotic prints and cut them into lots of sashing strips to accomodate all the blocks we're receiving. So we asking your help with this.  The great thing about this block is that by adding 3 extra pieces, it becomes self sashing!

Next sew (1) 2 1/2" x 12 1 /2" PATRIOTIC strip to the bottom of your 9 patch block. Press to Patriotic fabric.

Now sew the 2 1/2" WHITE square to one end of a 2 1/2" x 12 1 /2" PATRIOTIC strip. Press to Patriotic fabric.

Then sew the Patriotic strip/white square unit to the right side, as shown:
Press to Blue
