Clue #6 (Final Assembly Mystery Solved!!)
Assemble your blocks in rows of 4 blocks, then join rows.
Hint: If your blocks do not “nest” as you are sewing them together, simply rotate one block until they do.
Sew the remaining Dark Blue 2” x WOF strips together • end to end. Note: If making the scrappy version, and you have various scrappy dark blue fabrics, cut your WOF strips into sections approximately 12", mix them, then sew them together end to end.
Measure and cut (2) strips that are 2" x 45 ½” long. Sew these to the sides of quilt top.
Next measure and cut (2) strips that are
2" x 39 ½” long. Sew these to the top and bottom of your quilt top.
Now join (8) Chevron units together , as shown to make a Chevron border.
Make 2 Chevron borders
Add one border unit to each side of quilt top. The right side border Chevrons
should be pointing DOWN. The left side Chevrons should be pointing UP.
Next make a set of Chevron borders, each containing 6 units. Sew a single
Flying Geese to one end of each as shown.
Sew a Dark Blue 6 ½” square to each end of the 2 remaining borders. Attach
to top and bottom of quilt top. Top border Chevrons should be pointing RIGHT.
Bottom Chevrons should be pointing LEFT. Mystery Solved!!
