Clue #2 (Regular & Scrappy)
5. With right sides together, place (2) White 3 7/8" squares on top of the
7 1/4" Red square as shown. (Pin if necessary).
Using a ruler, draw a light line diagonally from top left corner to right bottom
corner. Stitch a scant ¼” on both sides of the drawn line. Cut apart on the
center drawn line.
Press seams toward White.
6. Draw a diagonal line on wrong side of another White 3 7/8" square, and with right sides together, lay the marked square on the sewn unit and stitch 1/4" on both sides of drawn line, as shown below. Cut apart on seam. Repeat with remaining unit. Flip and press.
HINT: Before making all your Flying Geese units, stop now and measure your units.
They should measure 3 ½” x 6 ½”. If your units do not measure this size, re-adjust
your ¼” seam, and/or needle position. It is very important that your units measure
3 ½” x 6 ½”.
