Cutting Instructions:

   RED:....(9)  2 1/2" x WOF                                      WHITE:.....(9)  2 1/2" x WOF

               (2)  3 1/2" x 7"                                                           (1)  3 1/2" x 7"

                                                                                               (2)   3" squares - draw diagonal line on wrong side

DARK BLUE:      (1)  3 1/2" x 7"

                        (2)  3" squares

Sew (1) 2 1/2" x WOF RED strip to (1) 2 1/2" x WOF WHITE strip together.  Subcut into 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" units, as shown:

Make 140

Make 4-Patches with units, as shown         Square up to 4 1/2"

Make 64  -  Save remainder units for later clue

Let's make some more 4-patches!    Sew (1) 3 1/2" x 7" RED strip to (1) 3 1/2" x 7" WHITE strip.  Subcut into 3 1/2" 6 1/2" units,

Next, sew (1) 3 1/2" DARK BLUE strip to (1) 3 1/2" RED strip.  Subcut into 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" units.       Then make 4-patches, as shown:

Make 2

Square up to 6 1/2"

Make Half Square Triangles (HST) by placing (1) 3" WHITE square on top of (1) 3" DARK BLUE square, right sides together.  Sew 1/4"

on each side of  drawn line.  Cut apart on line, press to Dark Blue.               Square up to 2 1/2"

Make 4

                    RED:............(18)  3 1/2" squares

                    WHITE: ...... (10)  4" squares - draw line on wrong side

                                        (24)   3 7/8" squares - draw diagonal line on wrong side

                     DARK BLUE:.....(10)  4" squares

                     GOLD:.......   (6)  7 1/4" squares
