QOV Mystery 12                  Clue #3

Cutting Instructions: 

Red............ (10) 5 1/8" squares - cut once on diagonal

Blue..............(10) 5 1/8" squares - cut once on diagonal

Gold.............. (20) 3 3/4"  squares - cut once on diagonal

Sewing Instructions:

Place (1) GOLD triangle on one corner of 4-patch unit, right sides together. Sew 1/4" seam, flip back and press to GOLD.  Repeat on other 3 corners.     Your unit should measure 6 1/2"

Make 10

Next sew BLUE and RED triangles on unit as shown, being careful of color placement.  Your block should measure 8 1/2"

Make 10   "D" units

Sew your RED and BLUE Flying Geese units together as shown:

Cutting Instructions for Clue #4:

Red...........  (20) 4 1/2"  squares- On wrong side, draw diagonal line from corner to corner.  Draw another line 1/2" inside of this line (see diagram below)

                   (9) 4"  squares

Cream........ (20) 2 1/2" x 8 1/2"

                 (20) 2 1/2" x 12 1/2"

                 (18) 4"  squares- draw diagonal line on wrong side

Blue........... (20) 4 1/2" squares - On wrong side, draw diagonal line from corner to corner.  Draw another line 1/2" inside of this line (see diagram below)
