This is a 7 week (7 clues) Mystery
This is a very scrappy quilt. You will need yardage for the background (cream), and a little yardage in red, but the rest can be scrappy. I have used Americana colors in my quilt, but you may choose to go with standard red, white, blue if desired. A good assortment of FQ's, 1/4 yd cuts, or go shopping in your stash for this project.
Below are some examples of suitable Americana fabrics: (Think Civil War fabrics with deep reds, blues and golds)
Fabric & Cutting Requirements:
This Mystery is different from many of my previous ones in that I'm going to have you do most of the cutting before the mystery begins. Don't worry! There's only 3 basic sizes used in most of the quilt.
Cream.... 3 3/4 yds Cut the following squares, then set the rest aside
(24) 6 1/2" squares
(24) 2 1/2" squares
(105) 3 1/2" squares - draw a diagonal line on wrong side
Red...... 1/2 yd (Do NOT cut this into squares - use other fabric for that! Set this 1/2 yd aside for now)
2 1/2" squares For a pleasing, scrappy look choose many different fabrics!
(178) Assorted reds
(238) Assorted blues (Draw a diagonal line on wrong side of 92)
(53) Assorted golds
3 1/2" squares For a pleasing, scrappy look choose many different fabrics
