Cutting Instructions:
RED:........ (8) 5" squares GOLD:.... (7) 5 1/4" squares
BLUE:......(28) 2 7/8" squares WHITE:....(8) 5" squares - draw diagonal line on wrong side
(28) 2 1/2' x 4 1/2"
Make Pinwheels using your Gold/White HST's, as shown: Your block should measure 4 1/2"
Make HST's by placing (1) 5" WHITE square on top of (1) 5" RED square. Stitch 1/4" on each side of drawn line.
Cut apart on line, and press to red. Square up to 4 1/2"
Next make more Flying Geese using the No Waste Method as shown in Clue #1. You will need (7) 5 1/4" GOLD squares, and
(28) 2 7/8" BLUE squares.
Sew (1) Blue/Gold Flying Geese to (1) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" BLUE strip as shown: LABEL: "B"
Sew (1) Red/White HST to each side of "B" unit above, as shown: (Set remainder "B" units aside for now)
Cutting Instructions for Clue #3 (clue will be posted March 21, 2009)
RED:........... (5) 4 1/2" square GOLD:......(16) 3" square
BLUE:..........(32) 5"squares - cut diagonally once
WHITE:.........(16) 3" square - draw diagonal line on wrong side
(16) 5 1/2" squares - cut diagonally twice to yield 4 triangles each
