Cutting Instructions:                                                                                                        Blue.............(2) 3 1/2" x 6 1/2"

   Red...............(1) 7" square

                        (1)  4" square

                       (1) 3 1/2" square

   White............(1) 7" square -draw diagonal on wrong side

                       (1)  4" square -   ""              ""

                       (2)  3 1/2" x 6 1/2"

                       (1) 3 1/2" square

Sewing Instructions:

Make a Half Square Triangle (HST) by placing (1) 7" WHITE                                  Repeat process using (1) 4" RED square and (1) 4" WHITE square.

square on top of (1) 7" RED square, right sides together. 

Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line. Cut

apart on line, and press to Red.

Assemble your block as shown:

Your block should measure 12 1/2" Unfinished

This is a very versitile block. Treat it as a log cabin block, and experiment rotating it in barn raising, streak of lightning, etc setting.  Also, try making half your blocks one colorway, and half the opposite and rotate!    Have fun!
