Cutting Instructions:

Red........................(1)  7 1/4" square                                                                   Navy Blue...........(4)  4" square

                             (1) 4" square - draw a diagonal line on wrong side

White.....................(3)  4" square - draw a diagonal line on wrong side

                            (4)  3 7/8" square - draw a diagonal line on wrong side

Sewinng Instructions: 

Make Half Square Triangles (HST) by placing                                                 Make more HST's, by placing (1)  4" RED square on top of

(1)  4" WHITE square on top of  (1)  4" NAVY BLUE square,                           (1)  4" NAVY BLUE square, right sides together.  Sew 1/4" on

right sides together.  Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line.                               each side of drawn line.  Cut apart on line,and press to Red.

Make Flying Geese using the No Waste Method.  Place (1) 3 7/8" WHITE square on two opposite corners of (1) 7 1/4" RED square, as shown (they will slightly overlap).  Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line.  Cut apart on line,and press to white.   Next, place (1) 3 7/8" WHITE square in remaining corner. Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line. Cut apart on line, and press to White.

Your Flying Geese will measure 3 1/2" x 6 1/2"

Assemble your block as shown:

Your block should measure 12 1/2" Unfinished
