Sew (1) 2 ½” x 21” cream between (2) 2 ½” x 21” RED strips, as shown.
Subcut into 2 ½” x 6 ½” units.
Sew (1) 2 ½” x 10 1/2” GOLD strip between (2) 2 ½” x 10 1/2” CREAM strips, as shown:
Subcut into 2 ½” x 6 ½” units.
Next make 9 patches using the above units, as shown:

Your 9 patch should measure 6 ½” x 6 ½”
Make Half Square Triangles by placing (1) 3”” x 3”” CREAM square on top of
(1) 3”” x 3”” BLUE square. Sew ¼” on each side of drawn lines, and cut apart on line. Press to blue.
Square up to 2 ½”.
Place (1) 2 ½” CREAM square on one end of (1) 2 ½” x 6 ½” BLUE strip, as shown. Sew on drawn diagonal line.
Cut seam allowance to ¼”, flip back, and press to blue.
Place another 2 ½” CREAM square on the other end, being careful of placement as shown. Stitch on drawn line, cut ¼” seam allowance,
flip back, and press to blue.
Frame your block with (1) 1 ½” x 10 ½” CREAM on each side of your block.
Sew a 1 ½” x 12 ½” RED strip on top and bottom, as shown:
Sew your blocks together as shown:
Make more Half Square Triangles (HST) by placing (1) 3 ” x 3 ” CREAM square on top of
(1) 3 ” x 3 ” BLUE square, right sides together. Stitch ¼” on each side of drawn line, cut apart on line, and press to Blue. Square up to 2 ½”
