Cutting Instructions:
RED:.....(7) 2 1/2" x WOF
(4) 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"
Assemble your quilt top in rows as shown:
Inner border:
Sew your (7) 2 ½” x WOF RED strips together end to end. Measure and cut (2) strips 60 1/2" long. Sew these to the sides of quilt top. Next measure and cut (2) strips 52 1/2" long. Sew these to top and bottom of quilt (NOTE: Since all ¼” seams may not be exact, these inner border measurements may not work for you. Measure your top through the middle to determine your inner border measurements).
Next sew (14) QST units together, being careful of placement.
Sew a “C” unit to the ends as shown: Make 1
Next sew (14) QST units together, being careful of placement.
Sew a “B” unit to the ends as shown: Make 1
Sew these to the sides of quilt. (REFER TO FULL QUILT ILLUSTRATION BELOW FOR PROPER COLOR PLACEMENT, i.e….Left side will have RED QST ….Right side will have BLUE QST.
Next sew (11) QST units together, as above.
Sew (1) “B” unit and (1) “C” unit to the ends as shown:
Sew (1) 4 ½” RED square on each end.
Sew these to top and bottom of top, again rotating strip, so color placement matches illustration below.
