Sew a 2 1/2" x 5 1/2"  RED strip between (2)  2 1/2" x 5 1/2" BLUE strips, lengthwise as shown.  Subcut into

(2)  2 1/2" x 6 1/2" units.  Repeat until you have (4) units.                                    LABEL:  "S"

For a pleasing, scrappy look, be sure to mix and match your fabrics in each clue.

Make 4

Sew a 2 1/2" x 7 1/2" RED strip between (2)  2 1/2" x 7 1/2" BLUE strips, lengthwise as shown.  Subct into

(2)  3 1/2" x 6 1/2" units.  Repeat until you have (4) units.                                    LABEL:  "Q"

Make 4

Sew a 2 1/2" x 11" BLUE strip to a 4 1/2" x 11" RED strip, lengthwise as shown. 

Subcut into (4) 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" units.                                                           LABEL:  "C"

Make 4

Sew (1)  2 1/2" x 6 1/2" BLUE strip to (1) "C" unit as shown.  Then sew (1)  "S" unit on as shown.    LABEL: "G"

Sew a 2 1/2" x 9 1/2" RED strip between (2)  2 1/2" x 9 1/2" BLUE strips, lengthwise as shown.

  Subcut into (2)  4 1/2" x 6 1/2" units. Repeat until you have a total of (22) units.                            LABEL:  "D"

Make 22

With right sides together, place a 3 1/2" WHITE square on top of a 3 1/2" BLUE square.  Stitch a

scant 1/4" on each side of drawn line, and press to dark.     Square up to 2 1/2"

Make 88 HST's, using (44) WHITE &

(44) BLUE 3 1/2" squares

Sew a 2 1/2" BLUE square to each end of your HST as shown.        LABEL:   "F"

Make 44

Set the remaining 44 HST's aside to use later in the pattern.
