Sew a BLUE/WHITE HST on each end of a 2 1/2" WHITE square as shown:      LABEL:  "P"

Assemble your Friendship Star Blocks as shown, using two "F" units , and one "P" unit

Sew a 2 1/2" x 5 1/2" RED strip between (2)  2 1/2" x 5 1/2" WHITE strips as shown:             LABEL:  "A"                                                                                                                              

Sew a 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" RED strip to each end of a "A" unit, as shown:              LABEL:  "E"

Make 3

Sew 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"  RED strip to a 1 1/2" x 3 1/2"  WHITE strip as shown:           LABEL:  "W"

With right sides together, place a 2 1/2" WHITE square (with diagonal line drawn on wrong side),

on top of a 3 1/2" RED square,as shown.  Sew on the drawn line, cut seam allowance to 1/4", flip back,

and press.                                                                                                                           LABEL: "R"

Next, using the above "R" unit, sew a 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" WHITE square, right sides together, on opposite corner.

Sew on drawn line, cut seam allowance to 1/4", flip back, and press.                            LABEL:  "N"

Assemble the Alphabet Letter A below, using "E", "W", "R", and "N" units as shown:

Next frame the Alphabet Letter A by sewing a 2" x 9 1/2" BLUE strip on each side of the unit.

Then sew a 2" x 12 1/2" BLUE strip on top and bottom as shown:
