QOV MYSTERY FOUR Clue #5 YARDAGE
Begin in the middle of quilt top by sewing Alphabet Letters to either side of your center Flag, matching seams, as shown:
Next sew blocks in the following order: Sew this to top of unit above, matching seams.
Next, sew blocks in the following order: Sew to bottom of unit, matching seams
Your quilt top center should now look like this:
INNER BORDER: Sew (6) 2 1/2" X WOF WHITE strips together, end to end
Measure and cut (2) strips 2 1/2" x 48 1/2". Sew these to the sides of quilt top.
Measure and cut (2) strips 2 1/2" x 64 1/2". Sew these to top and bottom.
Outside Pieced border:
Sew “X" & “D” units to White Friendship Stars in the following order: Make 2
"X" "D" "D" "D" "D" "D" "X"
Sew these to sides of quilt top.
Next assemble top and bottom borders using “D”, White Friendship Star and corner “G”units: Make 2
"G" "D" "D" "D" "D" "D" "D" "D" "G"
Sew these to top and bottom of quilt top, being careful of corner directions.
