QOV Mystery 13                                     Clue #5

Cutting Instructions: 

Red....... (5) 5 1/4" squares

            (10) 4 1/2" squares

Gray...... (20) 2 7/8" squares- draw a diagonal line on wrong side

Sewing Instructions:

Make more Flying Geese by placing (1) 2 7/8" GRAY square in opposite corners of (1) 5 1/4" RED square (they will slightly overlap).

Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line. Cut apart on line, and press to Gray.

Next place (1) 2 7/8" GRAY square in remaining corner, right sides together.  Sew 1/4" on each side of drawn line. Cut apart on line, and press to Gray.                              Your Flying Geese unit should measure 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"

Make 20

Sew (1) Blue/Red FG to (1) Red/Gray FG as shown:

Make 20

Sew (1) unit from above to each side of (1) 4 1/2" RED square, as shown:

Make 10

Assemble Block Two as shown:

Make 10

Cutting Instructions for Clue #6:

White..... (4) 2 1/2" squares

Blue....... (7) 4" x WOF   (NOTE: Depending on the WOF measurement, (6) may be just enough. See instructions before cutting 7th strip!)
